Sunrise III, Outer Banks is an encaustic painting that captures the earlier shift in the coastal sky—just as darkness gives way to light. Painted as part of my Sunrise series, this piece reflects the soft drama of first light along the North Carolina shore.

Deep indigos and violet hues rise from the lower edge, transitioning into a horizon line marked by warm orange-pink highlights and a glowing upper sky washed in seafoam, lemon, and pale gold. The heavily textured encaustic surface mimics the movement of sand, surf, and shifting clouds, adding physical depth to the emotional atmosphere.

This piece is part of a larger meditation on light, memory, and place. Available as signed limited edition fine art prints.
